This adaptation of Emily Brontė's novel "Wuthering Heights" stars Juliette Binoche as Catherine and Ralph Fiennes as Heathcliff. In the early 19th century, a Yorkshire farm family, the Earnshaws, take in a young boy from the city, Heathcliff. Although Earnshaw's son, Hindley, resents the boy, Heathcliff becomes a companion and soulmate to Hindley's sister, Catherine. After the death of her parents, Cathy and Heathcliff grow up wild and free on the Moors, even in spite of the continued enmity between Hindley and Heathcliff. Their happiness is threatened, however, when Cathy meets Edgar Linton, the son of a wealthy neighbor.
