Summary
Andrew Davies' miniseries of "Sense and Sensibility" adapts Jane Austen's novel about two sisters and their quest to
find suitable husbands after the loss of their family estate.
Charity Wakefield stars as the romantic and exuberant Marianne Dashwood,
who is courted by the dashing John Willougby (played by Dominic Cooper) and
the honorable Colonel Brandon (David Morrissey). Hattie Morahan is superb as
the reserved and dutiful Elinor, whose romance with Edward Ferrars (Dan Stevens)
faces a number of challenges, including disapproving relatives and a secret
engagement! The film is a romantic and touching adaptation of Jane Austen's beloved novel.
Cinematography is excellent; one can almost feel the waves crashing on the shore at Barton Cottage.
The musical score is also inspiring. Well done.
This film was made for television and is not rated.
