This Hallmark production is based on Mark Twain's novel of the same name.
A youthful Prince of Wales Edward (Jonathan Timmins) swaps places with Tom Canty (Robert Timmins),
a young Londoner from the slums, the two being virtually identical. The escapade is meant to be temporary,
but the Prince is thwarted in his attempts to resume his rightful place, leaving the reluctant imposter to
cope with the villainous Regent (Jonathan Hyde). Meanwhile, the Prince is under the protection of Sir Miles (Aidan Quinn),
newly returned from Spain and trying to regain his lands from his usurper brother.
This film is made for television and not rated.
