Continuing where the first "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie left off, "Dead Man's Chest" begins in medias res with the arrest of
Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) on the day of their planned wedding. Lord Cutler Beckett (Tom Hollander)
sentences the pair to death, but then strikes a deal with Will for his freedom, in exchange
for a compass belonging to Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp). Will agrees, and tracks down Jack and his crew of The Black Pearl on a tribal
island inhabited by cannibalistic warriors. Jack agrees to give Will his compass, if Will agrees to help him find a key to a
chest containing the heart of Davy Jones, the cursed, undead captain of The Flying Dutchman, to whom Jack has given his soul to eternal servitude.
In addition, Will discovers that among Davy Jones' crew of undead warriors, labors his own father. Will, Jack and Elizabeth thus set out on a
dangerous undertaking to find the chest, all for their own purposes.
This film is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of adventure violence, including frightening images.
