Summary
This A&E adaptation of Thomas Hardy's novel stars Ciaran Hinds ("Captain Wentworth" in Persuasion (1995)) as Michael Henchard, a man who sells his wife and infant daughter in a drunken episode. He later lives to regret his despicable mistake, and decides to change his ways and become a respectable man. Twenty years later, his wife and daughter (played by Jodhi May) reappear into his life, and he must face the decision to restore his relationship with them or further separate himself from the past.
