Summary
This heartwarming film from the Hallmark Hall of Fame series stars Jennifer Jason Leigh and Campbell Scott. It tells the story of a man from Boston who buys an antique desk in which he discovers a collection of love letters written by a woman named Elizabeth, who lived during the 1860s. He becomes so enchanted by the letters that he ends up writing to Elizabeth, and mails his response at a post office with using an authentic-period one-cent stamp. Soon afterwards, he discovers another letter in the desk, a response from Elizabeth. The two begin a romance which transcends not only place but time.
