Summary
Sophie Marceau and Sean Bean star in the dramatization of Leo Tolstoy's classic
novel, Anna Karenina, considered one of the most important literary works of the
19th century. The movie relates the story of a woman's adulterous affair with the Russian Count Vronsky and its
devastating results on her own life, as well as the lives of everyone around her. Anna's indulgence in her affair with
Vronsky spirals out of control until it ultimately destroys her. The tragic outcome of her
choices is contrasted with another marriage: Levin and Kitty, whose romance grows from a deep and stable friendship.
This film is rated PG-13 for mature thematic elements and some sensuality.
