Summary
This BBC adaptation of the classic Charles Dickens novel is considered one of the finest versions yet. Set in Victorian England, the movie follows the story of a young orphaned Pip (Ioan Gruffudd), who is given a chance to become a gentleman when he receives an income from a mysterious benefactor. With his newfound wealth, Pip attempts to win the heart of Estella (Justine Waddell), his childhood friend who has been trained by the eerie Miss Havisham, a cold-hearted spinster who was betrayed on her wedding day, to scorn him.
