Summary
Based on Amanda Foreman's novel Georgiana: Duchess of Devonshire this film tells the story of Georgiana Spencer,
Duchess of Devonshire, played by Keira Knightley. She is 16 when she marries
William Cavendish, the fifth Duke of Devonshire (Ralph Fiennes), who is much older than she and only interested in producing a male heir. He
does not love her and treats her with contempt. He also had numberous affairs on the side, one with her best friend Lady Elizabeth Foster (Hayley Atwell).
Despite a loveless marriage, Georgiana is loved by the people. She is admired for her outspoken political views and exquisite taste in fashion. But when she falls in love with
Earl Grey (Dominic Cooper), scandal erupts.
This film is rated PG-13 for sexual content, brief nudity and thematic material.
