Queen Victorian Coffee or Tea Urn
In the early 1700s, tea was quite expensive, and the hostess would always prepare tea with a watchful eye.
By the mid 1700s, tea became a little less expensive, so the tea kettles became gradually larger in size. Urns stood proudly on
the center of the buffet or the center of the tea table. All the hostess had to was open the tap on the side to
allow hot water to flow into the teapot. Ours is an authentic reproduction of English urns used during Queen Victoria's reign,
when tea became the most fashionable and awaited part of each afternoon. Elegantly vase shaped with a narrow
stemmed foot and a graceful tap through which boiling water is delivered, this stunning beauty will grace any
tea party. Substantial and well crafted, this urn measures 22" x 13".
